Lord Shiva 19 Avatar:
1- Veerbhadra Avatar
This incarnation of Lord Shankar took place after the sacrifice of his body by Mother Sati in the yajna of Daksha.
2- Pipplad Avatar
Legend has it that Pipplad asked the gods – what is the reason that my father Dadhichi left me before birth? The gods told that such a misfortune was created only because of the sight of Shani. Pipplad was very angry on hearing this. He cursed Shani to fall from the constellation. Due to the effect of the curse, Shani started falling from the sky at the same time. On the request of the gods, Pipplad forgave Shani on the fact that Shani would not harm anyone from birth till the age of 16 years. Since then, just by remembering Pipplad, Shani’s pain goes away.
3- Nandi Avatar
According to the legend, a sage named Shilad was a brahmachari. Seeing the end of the dynasty, his ancestors asked Shilad to produce children. Shilad did penance to Lord Shiva, wishing to have a sonless and deathless child. Then after some time with the boon of Shiva, while plowing the land, Shilad got a child born from the land. Shilad named him Nandi.
4- Bhairav Avatar
Bhairav is considered to be the full form of Lord Shankar. Because of cutting off the fifth head of Brahma ji, Bhairav was convicted of the sin of killing Brahma, then in Kashi, Bhairav got freedom from the sin of killing Brahma, so the people of Kashi definitely worship Bhairav.
5- Ashwatthama Avatar
Talking about this incarnation of Lord Shiva, Ashwatthama, the son of Dronacharya, the guru of Mahabharata, was a part incarnation of Lord Shankar because Dronacharya had done severe penance to get Shiva as a son.
6- Sharbhavatar:
In this incarnation of Bholenath, his form was half deer and the rest Sharabh bird. Please tell that this incarnation of Lord Shiva pacified the anger of Lord Narsimha.
7- Grihapati Avatar:
Let us now know about the seventh incarnation of Lord Shiva i.e. Grihapati Avatar. It has been told about them that one day the sage saw a child in the middle of the Viresh Linga. The sage worshiped Shiva in the form of a child. Pleased with his worship, Lord Shankar granted him a boon to incarnate from the womb of Shuchishmati. After which Shuchishmati became pregnant later and Lord Shankar appeared in the form of a son from the womb of Shuchishmati.
8- Rishi Durvasa Avatar:
Among all the incarnations of Bholenath, the incarnation of sage Durvasa is also considered prominent. According to religious texts, Maharishi Atri, the husband of Sati Anusuiya, performed severe penance on the Rikshkul mountain along with the wife as per the instructions of Brahma.
9- Hanuman Avatar:
Who does not know about this incarnation of Shiva. It is considered equal to the most powerful, intelligent and courageous of Lord Shankar. In this incarnation, he incarnated as a monkey and later worshiped Lord Rama.
10- Vrishabha Avatar:
Lord Shankar took the Vrishabha avatar under special circumstances. According to the legend, when Lord Vishnu killed the demons in Hades, many women were fascinated by seeing him. The sons of Vishnu born from these women had created a great disturbance from the underworld to the earth. Frightened by them, Brahma ji went to Shiva and started praying for protection. Then Shiva took the Vrishabha avatar and killed them.
11- Yatinath Avatar:
Lord Shankar had rendered the importance of the guest by taking the incarnation of Yatinath. He took the test of the Bhil couple by becoming a guest in this incarnation, due to which the Bhil couple had to lose their lives.
12- Krishna Darshan Avatar:
Shivaji has told the importance of religious works like Yagya etc. regarding this incarnation. That is why this incarnation is considered as a symbol of religion. According to religious texts, Ikshvakunshiya Shraddhadev’s king Nabhag was born in the ninth generation.
13- Avadhoot Avatar:
Lord Shankar had crushed the ego of Lord Indra by taking the Avadhoot avatar. The stories of incarnations are described in detail in religious texts.
14- Bhikshvarya Avatar
Lord Shankar is the god of gods. He is also the savior of the life of every living being born in the world. This is the message that Lord Shankar’s incarnation of Bhikshuvarya gives.
15- Sureshvara Avatar
The story behind Bholenath’s Sureshwar incarnation is that he was pleased with the devotion of a small child Upamanyu and gave him the boon of his supreme devotion and immortal position.
16- Kirat Avatar
There has been some reason behind every incarnation of Mahadev. The story behind the Kirata avatar of Lord Shiva is that by taking the Kirata avatar, he tested the bravery of Arjuna, the son of Pandu.
17- Suntantarak Avatar
In order to ask for the hand of his daughter from Parvati’s father Himachal, Shiva had disguised himself as a Suntanartak. With a damaru in his hand, Shiva reached Himachal’s house in the form of a nut and started dancing.
18- Brahmachari Avatar
When Sati was born in the Himalayas after sacrificing her life in the sacrifice of Daksha, she did severe penance to get Shiva as her husband. To take Parvati’s test, Shiva arrived in the guise of a celibate and approached her. Seeing Brahmachari, Parvati duly worshiped him. When Brahmachari asked Parvati the purpose of her austerity and on knowing it, started condemning Shiva and also called him a cremation dweller and Kapalik. Hearing this, Parvati got very angry. Seeing Parvati’s devotion and love, Shiva showed her his true form.
19- Yaksha Avatar
The Yaksha avatar was worn by Shiva to remove the unfair and false pride of the Gods.
