The saints come in all the Kumbh Mela. This fair is celebrated at four different places – on the banks ofGodavari river in Nasik, on the banks ofRiver Ganga in Haridwar, on the banks of theShiprariverin Ujjain, and thePrayagraj (Allahabad), the Ganga River, the Yamuna River and the Saraswati river, where the three are in confluence.
The role of Sun, Moon, Guru and Saturn is considered to be important from the Navagrahas in the event of kumbh. Therefore, kumbh is organized in the special position of these planets.
When the nectar was received fromSagar Manthan, then the eclipse began to be drawn into the gods and the demons. In such a way, kumbh is organized at the place where the bunts of nectar sprang from the kalash and fallen on them.
Recognition onMahakumbhIt has been said in the scriptures that one year of the earth is one day of the gods, therefore every 12 years Kumbh is organized at one place.
Twelve years of the gods comes 144 years after the people of the earth.
It is believed that after 144 years, Kumbh is held in heaven also, so that year Mahakumbha is organized on earth.Prayagis considered as a place forMahakumbh.
Kumbh Mela History(Story of Kumbh Mela):
Due to the curse ofRishi Durvasonce the gods lost their power. Then to get their strength, they contactedLord BrahmaandLord Shiva, who advised them to pray toLord Vishnu.
Lord Vishnu advised to chantKshirsagarand remove theNectar. WhenLord Vishnusaid such a thing, the entire deity was engaged in a treaty with the demons and tried to get rid of nectar.
Mandarachal Mountainwas used as a stick churning. First of all thepoisonwas born in the churning which was assumed byLord Shiva.
As soon as the nectar appeared with the churning, the deity understood the wrong intentions of the devils; Indra son, on the directions of the gods, flew into the sky with nectar.
According to the agreement, their share was not given to them, the war between the demons and the gods continued for 12 days and 12 nights.
In this way, the nectar fell on four different places, fighting and fighting.Prayagraj, Haridwar, Nasik and UjjainSince then, it is believed that there aremysterious powersat these places, and therefore Kumbh Mela is held at these places.
As we can say 12 days of the gods, 12 years of human beings are equal, so at these sacred places every 12 years is followed byKumbh Mela.
