Who built Kedarnath Temple:
It is said that earlier this temple was built by the Pandavas during the Mahabharata period. Later in the eighth century, Adiguru Shankaracharya established Kedarnath Dham.
Which river flows near Kedarnath temple?
The Mandakini river flows near the temple. There are images of Hindu deities on the inner walls of the prayer hall of the temple. The Shivling established in the sanctum sanctorum is worshiped inside the temple.

Kedarnath Dham Yatra is of high mountains, so you have to keep clothes according to the cold with you. Passengers should carry at least two pairs of sweater, jacket, inner, cap-muffler etc. with them. It would be good to have gloves for small children. It often rains in the afternoon in the mountains, so it is important to have a raincoat. It would be better if you keep a kit of medicines with you. According to children and elders, keep medicines for fever, headache, vomiting, loose motion etc.
How To Reach Kedarnath Mandir:
By Bus:
To reach Kedarnath Dham, a journey of about 250 km from Haridwar to Gaurikund can be covered by bus.
Then the journey of 14 km from Gauri Kund to Kedarnath has to be covered on foot.
By Air:
Helicopter service is also provided from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Dham(Kedarnath mandir) .
By Train:
You can also reach Haridwar via train(kedarnath from delhi). At the same time, one can reach Dehradun through air travel. After that, you will have to reach Gaurikund by road again. Then the journey of 14 km from Gauri Kund to Kedarnath has to be covered on foot.
